WHITE TOVEROS

When a tobiano and overo are bred together, the result is often a foal which exhibits 75% or more white on its coat. The horses below are exhibiting the near-to-total-white range of pinto spotting. Because a tovero may show just one pattern in its coat, some of these horses may be expressing a pure white sabino pattern. I am looking for more white toveros to put here to show as examples--if you have a photo of one that you would like to add to this page, please email J. Piercy. Pure white tovero Tennessee Walking Horse colt previously owned by Stoney Stables (deceased from colic)

Shomee
Pure white tovero Miniature Horse colt owned by Brenda Marler. Shomee is by a 75% white tovero and out of a minimal sabino overo. He has blue eyes, a black pigmentation spot on his muzzle, corner of mouth and a couple of spots on the pink skin of his tail. All 4 hooves are equally matched--approimately 75% white with a black strip on both sides at the heel.

Frosted Glacier
Strawberry roan tovero stallion (Glacier [sabino] x Frosty Lynn [tobiano]). Previously owned by A Bar A Ranch, Sandy, UT. This horse shows how similar extreme toveros and sabinos can look.

Terrific White Lie
Pure white tovero filly (Misterrific [sabino] x Busters Cajun Baby [tobiano]). Bred by John and Allison Hoge of Alibi Farms, Campbell, TX. This filly has just a few black hairs in her tail but is otherwise all white.

Apollo Eleven
Strawberry roan tovero stallion (Encore [sabino] x Surf Bird Gal [tobiano]). Owned by Eddie and Rita Durmon of Durmon's Farm, Vivian, Louisiana.

Robin's Casper
Black tovero stallion (by My Painted Robin); I believe this stallion is deceased. Previously owned by Colin Beals, Phoenix, AZ

KR Moonlight
Bay tovero mare (Kenny Rogers [tovero by splash white stallion Gambling Man x Sunny Super Girl [AQHA]); This mare sports a bay star on her forhead and is otherwise pure white. She is owned by Karen Holder

Cowboy Kasper
Pure white tovero stallion (Spooks Trophy Boy x Illusive Cowgirl) standing at stud; this horse is homozygous for tobiano and will always produce spotted foals that are either tobiano or tovero. Owned by Rocking O Ranche, 5600 Shingle Mill Road, Sandpoint, ID 83864 (201) 263-5549

Easter Sunrise
Black tovero stallion and lookalike daughter; owners unknown. Both of thes horses share a dark topknot and are otherwise pure white.

Missy Game Point
Chestnut tovero mare (by Bingo's Game Point, a grey tobiano); owned by unknown. This mare is a "medicine" hat, and other than the color over her forhead and ears, she's pure white.

Easy Ta Win
Sorrel tovero stallion (Smooth N Easy [tobiano] x Miss Space Command [tobiano]). Owned by Jerome and Irene Smith of J-I Ranch, Yukon, OK. This stallion appears to only have colored ears.
