Requirements... Membership is mandatory for registration and participation in IRC. The terms "Member" or "Membership" refer to a designation authorized by the registry of IRC These designations do not confer any ownership interest in I.R.C. and do not directly or implicitly confer any right to impose Managerial authority or share in the profits and losses of International Registry of Colored Horses, L.L.C. Membership is based on a calendar year-starts on January 1st and ends on December 30. Membership entitles participant to services provided by IRC: registration of horses, web and advertising services, promotional services, quarterly news letter, stallion directory, breeding and show awards sponsored by IRC, voting for board members and/or participating as a board member and voting on issues and policies of IRC. All forms must be filled out completely
and submitted with all applicable fees, photos and documentation. Any
forms missing information, fees or photos may incur an addition charge
for processing or maybe returned if not process able. Horse must be of Sporthorse, Warmblood, Thoroughbred or Sportpony type/breed and of course must be of COLOR for the main registry books. There is a book for solids offspring - Auxiliary book I or II for horses that maybe lacking in pedigree, color lines or type. Just some of the colors that are considered for the main books are: Appaloosas - Pintos/Paints - Roans - Palominos - Creams - True Blacks - True Whites - Duns - Buckskins - Grullas - Champagnes - Brindles - Knabstruppers, etc.
Category for Warmbloods Studbook I Must meet color requirements, must have higher than 75% APPROVED Warmblood lines or European Warmblood registration or equivalent. Sire or Dam must be approved for breeding into a European or equivalent Warmblood registry. Some of the books the IRC recognizes are: Trak, Oldenburg, Han, ZfDP, RPSI, West, Hols, Swedish, Dutch, ISR & American WB.-if pedigree is acceptable, Polish WB, etc. Warmbloods Studbook II Must meet color requirements, must have higher than 75% Warmblood or approvable Warmblood lines, sire and dam do not have to be Approved into Warmblood books. Category for Thoroughbreds Studbook I Must meet color requirements, must have verifiable registration with The Jockey Club or equivalent, full Thoroughbreds with documented blood typing or genetic proof of full TB pedigrees that may or may not be registered with PHR or other registries can be included into the Thoroughbred division, but it will be noted that offspring are not eligible for J.C. or equivalent papers, by being placed in IRC Thoroughbred studbook II. Category for Sporthorses Studbook I Must meet color requirements, is more open allowing TB crosses, Warmblood crosses, Paints, Appaloosas, Quarterhorses, Saddlebred, etc., but horses MUST be of Sporthorse type, i.e.: suitable for disciplines such as: dressage, hunters, jumpers, eventing, etc. and have known 3 generation pedigree. Studbook II above requirements lacking 3 generation pedigree. Category for Sportsponies Studbook I Must meet color requirements, must be 14.2 hh or less and be of Sporthorse/pony type. i.e.: suitable for disciplines such as: dressage, hunters, jumpers, eventing, etc. . and have known 3 generation pedigree. Studbook II above requirements lacking 3 generation pedigree. Category for Auxiliary
Studbook I is solid breeding stock, horses not meeting the color
requirements who are by colored parent/parents. Auxiliary
Studbook II no colored parental lines for registration of
improvement lines. Auxiliary
Studbook III no color, lacking required pedigree with no
registered IRC parent, unknown pedigree or type not being met. Auxiliary
Studbook II & Auxiliary Studbook III are not eligible for IRC
awards, classes or participation in year end high scores and points. If your horse
has already been registered with IRC and the new categories in
Warmblood, or Auxiliary now has placed your horse into the incorrect
book, you may send in your papers for free updating or you can keep
your horse grand fathered into the book it is placed currently in.
IRC will only change papers/books on a voluntary basis and at
the request of the owner. |

If your horse qualifies for a below rating please contact us and confirm records. *Attention pony people...we need input on below ratings for ponies and what would be considered fair assessment for them for below qualifications. Special Ratings within IRC books:
Elite: Having competed successfully at the FEI levels in: Dressage, Jumpers, Driving or Eventing. Scoring 120 or higher in a approved 100 or 70 day testing or scoring an 8.0 in a 30DT or scoring 80 and having competed successfully 10 times or more at rated open shows: Dressage, Jumpers, Hunters, Driving, Eventing, Breeding classes. Hunters having significant points with ASHA. Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having won $100,000 or higher or having won $25,000 and having competed successfully 5 times or more at rated open shows: Dressage, Jumpers, Hunters, Driving, Eventing, Breeding classes. Premium:
Having competed successfully at lest 10 times at rated open
shows: Dressage, Jumpers, Hunters, Driving, Eventing, Breeding
classes. Scoring 80 or higher in an approved 100 or 70 day testing or
scoring 70 with having competed successfully at lest 5 times at
rated open shows or scoring 7.0 in a 30DT. Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having won $10,000
or higher or having won $5000 and competed successfully at lest
3 times at rated open shows. O-Elite (producing elite offspring ): Stallions: Having 10 or more offspring competing successfully at medium levels in A rated shows: Dressage, Jumpers, Hunters, Driving, Eventing or approved into WB studbooks. , or having 15 IRC premium rated foals (see below) Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having 2 offspring having won $10,000 or higher or $5,000 with combination of show records. Mares-having 2 or more offspring competing at above levels, or having 4 IRC premium rated foals. Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having 1 offspring having won $10,00 or higher or $5,000 with combination of show records. O-Premium (producing premium offspring): Stallions: Having 5 or more offspring competing successfully at low to medium levels in rated shows: Dressage, Jumpers, Hunters, Driving, Eventing, Breeding classes, or having 8 IRC premium rated foals (see below) Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having 2 offspring having won $5,000 or higher or $2500 and a combination of show records. Mares: Having 2 or more offspring competing successfully at low to medium levels in rated shows, or having 2 IRC premium rated foals. Racing (Thoroughbreds only) having 1 offspring having won $5,000 or higher or $2500 and a combination of show records. Premium foals: Having scored 1st, Gold, or Premium at Warmblood inspections. having scored 68% or better and being in the top 3 at open rated dressage or recognized bred show, having placed in the top 3 at a A rated hunter breed show, having placed in the top 5 at an IHF breed show or equivalent. or a combination of above, such as a 7.5 Inspection score (where an 8.0 is needed for Premium) and scoring well in an open rated bred show, etc. Click here
